Department of ENT
The Department of ENT at Shri Gangaram Medical College & Hospital focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. It offers structured academic learning along with extensive clinical exposure.
Key areas include hearing loss, ear infections, tinnitus, nasal obstruction, sinusitis, deviated nasal septum, throat infections, voice disorders, tonsillitis, adenoids, and head and neck tumors. Students learn essential diagnostic tools such as otoscopy, nasal endoscopy, tuning fork tests, audiometry, laryngoscopy, and impedance audiometry.
The department hosts well-equipped ENT OPDs, audiology and speech therapy units, minor procedure rooms, and a modular operation theatre. Students are involved in foreign body removals, nasal packing, tracheostomies, and microscopic ear surgeries.
Interactive teaching includes bedside clinics, dissection labs, temporal bone workshops, and multimedia tutorials. Students also get hands-on practice in instrument handling, emergency airway management, and nasal fracture stabilization.
Community outreach involves hearing camps, screening programs in schools, and public awareness drives on voice care, early cancer detection, and hearing protection.
Faculty members actively publish in peer-reviewed ENT journals and guide student research on hearing loss, vertigo, sinus diseases, and ototoxicity.
The Department of ENT strives to nurture confident clinicians capable of addressing both common ENT conditions and emergencies with skill, accuracy, and empathy.
